mr. happy

Every year for the past few years, we have had such good intentions on the pumpkin front.  I always swoon over pictures of babies dressed up in their Fall attire plopped right in the middle of a pumpkin patch.  I always intended on getting those pictures of my own little ones, but life always gets in the way.  Needless to say, another year went by without a picture in the pumpkin patch.  So sad.  But, we did get a pumpkin to carve.  We may have gotten one of the very last pumpkins at Publix, but hey a pumpkin is a pumpkin, right?

Ansley kept insisting that we should give the pumpkin a sad face, but after a little time she changed her mind as she always does, and we gave the pumpkin a happy face.  She was beyond excited to gut the pumpkin.  She used a big spoon and her little hand, and managed to get almost all of the seeds out by herself.  While Freddy and I were carving, she was having a ball while playing with the pumpkin guts. She would pile all of the stringy things(for lack of the correct term) and ask if we were hungry for “sketti”.  She would pile them up and when they were to her liking she would say “perfect”!

When the pumpkin was all carved we asked her what she wanted to name him and she enthusiastically replied, “MR. HAPPY!” While the quintessential pictures in the patch were missing, memories were indeed made!
