Freddy and I are expecting our first child, and last week we had our first appointment with the doctor. At the appointment we received some surprising news: we are twelve weeks pregnant, not the six like we thought. It turns out that our little one will be due on August 7, the day before their Aunt Kim's birthday. It was so magical to see our baby move and punch during the ultrasound...who knew that doctor's visits could be so much fun!!
I have been going through a lot of changes in the past few weeks. One big thing: none of my clothes fit!! I am now in that awkward limbo where maternity clothes don't fit, but neither do my normal clothes. Instead of looking pregnant, I just look fat. However, a glimmer of hope showed up at the end of this week...the start of my belly! I look sort-of pregnant now!! Another not so pleasant change: aches and pains. I never knew how bad my back,hips and feet could ache. Luckily, I have the best husband on the planet who will rub me on demand. Whenever I feel tired or frustrated, I just look at our baby's ultrasound picture on the refrigerator and my heart smiles. It makes me feel encouraged that I have this little life growing in me, and it makes it all seem real. But man, pregnancy is HARD WORK!!!
