crazy kitty

Let me give you a little background for this video. First of all, our cat, Shiraz, is crazy. He is an outdoorsy cat just waiting for any chance for his escape to the great outdoors. Unfortunately, he is declawed and thus an indoor cat for life. Sorry Shiraz. I feel for you. Anyway, there is this black cat that loves to torture Shiraz by sprawling out on our back porch. Mind you, this cat knows what he is doing. He positions himself perfectly so that Shiraz can see him from the door in the great room and the window in Ansley’s room. Whoever said cat’s are stupid, are, well, stupid. So, Shiraz tries to “scare” this cat off with his best scary meow. It just doesn’t work. He is not scary. This does not deter Shiraz. He will go crazy until the cat leaves(usually from Freddy or I scaring him off). So, I know that was a lot of background, but here he is today with his trusty sidekick Ansley.

lately

Lately we have been fighting colds and ear infections, and when I say lately I mean the past three weeks. Yes, that’s right….three weeks! If it is not Ansley it is me. I am so sick of it(no pun intended). So, needless to say I have not felt like blogging lately.

A few weekends ago we went up to my Nana and Papa’s in N. Ga. It was so beautiful to see the changing leaves and the beautiful mountain scenery. It was a perfect Fall weekend. We went to a little Fall festival and got Ansley a little toy car, boiled peanuts, ice cream cone, and this Swedish cheese that is TO DIE FOR!!

All in all it was great to be in the mountains and to see our family. Here are a few pictures from the weekend. (FYI: I am NOT preggo, just gained a few lbs. Needless to say A LOT of people have been asking me and now I get it…I need to lose weight)

just another day at the zoo!

Friday, Ansley and I joined our friends Joy and Ethan for a play date at the zoo. We had a BLAST! The kids loved the animals, and walking through the Botanical gardens as well. We enjoyed it so much, we will be going back before it gets too cold(which probably will never happen..urgh!). We weren't able to get around to the entire park, but the kids wore them selves out from the parts that we did see. Ansley's favorites were the penguins...she was laughing hysterically as she watched them swim back and forth. There was an old man there with his grandkids and he was cracking up at her, he asked me, "do you think she likes them?" In other words, a trip to the aquarium is in our future! The kids were also fascinated by the gibbons. They were in awe just listening to them banter back and forth. The biggest hit of all was the petting zoo. They loved the fact that they could actually touch the goats. Joy let Ethan feed them and he loved it when they licked his hand! Giggles abounded, to say the least. (Don't worry we washed their hands afterward)

a day at the park

We have been loving this fall weather! We normally go to the park a few days a week, but we have really been enjoying it with the cool weather. I also have been loving putting sweet cheeks in her cute little fall outfits that I got at the local consignment sale. This particular outfit just melts me! I love the panda on her cute little tush, and the ears on the hood. We also soaked up the weather by playing in the dirt in our yard. Later, after dinner, we went on a walk through the neighborhood as a family. She had a wardrobe change because, well, ivory is not the best color for playing in the dirt. She is still a cutie pie with ears on her hood :).

Ansley has really been growing like crazy, and it seems as though she learns something new everyday. Lately she has been talking a lot more, and she is now saying "hi", "kitty", "bye", "night night", "uh-oh" and of course "mommy" and "daddy". She is just so much fun!

mother's day out

Last week I bit the bullet and enrolled Ansley in "school". It's at a local church, and it is technically called "Mother's Day Out". When they say day, they mean four hours. I wasn't sure if I was ready for it or not, but I quickly discovered that it was long overdue. Don't get me wrong, I love my little girl and the time we spend together, but I also like my alone time. And, she loves it! It is amazing how quickly four hours passes by when you have a mile long to-do list. Her are the pictures from her royal cuteness' first week of school.

My cutie pants in her boots! I got her lunch box on the clearance aisle at Wally World, but it just wasn't snazzy enough. So, I spruced it up with a monogrammed "A"(the iron on kind) and a cute little flower that I already had. Total: $4. Holla!
