Confused little kitty!

Our cat, Shiraz, has reigned supreme over our house until now. You see, he loves our office because it has a big window overlooking the backyard, so naturally he thinks that it is his room. Well, the bad news is, it is now our little girl's room. We have slowly been bringing in baby items into the room, and now Shiraz thinks they are his. When we laid out some clothes we had gotten, he thought it was a bed for him. When we had the shoes out as well, he thought they were his toys. Then, when we got the crib linens he thought they were an even nicer bed. While it is really cute and at times hilarious, I am worried that he is going to set up camp and try and sleep with the baby in her crib! Hopefully he will get the picture sooner rather than later!

So one night we thought it would be funny to try a few things out on our poor-little-confused kitty. First, the sling, which he did not like AT ALL!! Then, we put a bib on him which he didn't mind at first, and then tried to take it off. We couldn't help him because we were laughing so hard we were crying!!

It's a GIRL!!

Freddy and I found out on March 16 that we are having a little girl!! We are very excited, but not as excited as my mom. We told her that evening over the phone, and Freddy could hear her scream across the house. At first, Freddy was a tad disappointed, but now he is excited to have a "daddy's little girl". I know he will be an excellent father, and treat her like a princess.

So now that we know what we are having, we finally registered at Babies 'R us. Talk about an undertaking! I never knew how much stuff one little human being could need, or that I haven't heard of over half of it! Freddy and I received a list of suggested items, and we stood in the isles bewildered at what all of it was and what it was used for.

While we feel vastly unprepared for what is in store for us in the next four months, we did make our first purchase for her nursery. We got her cribs linens which are quintessentially pink, but I think sophisticated as well. We have also picked out a paint color for her room as well, but I am overwhelmed with all the things we have not done! Oh well, my mantra is: it will get done eventually (it is not like she will notice). I guess that is the beauty of being young and blissfully unaware!
