Clean up on aisle 9

So this morning I had one of those mom moments that I won't soon forget. I was feeding Emerson her solids and Ansley came running up to me telling me she needed to go poop on the potty. So I put down the spoon on Emerson's tray with her food. Rookie mistake. Well, it gets better. We went into the bathroom and pulled Ansley's diaper off, and it turns out that she actually went poop in her diaper. I did not realize this until I saw the poop on the floor. TOTAL gross out!!!! It gets worse. The poop was everywhere: Ansley, the potty seat, the floor, EVERYWHERE!!! During the clean up of Ansley's "bleach able" moment, I hear Emerson fling her food on the floor. Wonderful. I will say though, I much prefer cleaning up pears. While I didn't document Ansley's mess, I did get Emmy's cute little guilty face.

Happy 7 months, emerson!

Well, baby girl i know I'm late and I forgot your 6 month all together, but that doesn't change how much I love you. You are such a joy and it is so much fun to watch you grow. Your personality is really starting to blossom.

Here is what you have been up to this month:

• You weigh around 19 pounds, and I am not exactly sure how long you are.  At your 6 month appointment you were 28 inches long(95%).  I think you are going to be a tall girl!!
• You are wearing a size 3 diaper and 9 month clothing.  You are so long that you have even fit into some 12 month pants!
• You are still on a great 4 hour schedule.  You get up at 7:30 and you go to bed at 7:30.  You eat anywhere from 6-8 oz.  You are eating solids 3 times a day too.  You pretty much like everything except peas. If you don't like a food you spit it out all over me.  Not fun!
• You have started sleeping solidly through out the night! Can I get an AMEN!! I don't want to jinx this so I am going to knock on some wood right now. 
• You have FOUR teeth!! Two on top and two on the bottom.  You worked on those top teeth for about two months and I can tell you are much happier now that they have poked through.
• You are army crawling like crazy! You will get up on all fours and rock, but you have yet to crawl on all fours.  You get around just fine though, and are quite the trouble maker! You are into everything!! I can't take my eye off you for a second.  You will crawl to an area you know you are not allowed in and will look back at me and smile.  You think it is so funny when I tell you NO. 
• You really love you doorway jumper, and you get really excited when your sister jumps with you.  Better yet, you love it when she pushes you in it. Thank goodness that thing can't come off, because you really get some air in it! 
• You are quite vocal now, you have definitely found you voice! You know now that if you want to be heard around here you have to speak up. 
• You make the funniest noises with your mouth.  You can click, make kissy noises, smack, etc.  We love hearing you do it and get quite the kick out of it. 
• You are super ticklish on your back, especially when I give you kisses on it. 
• You are starting to go through that attachment phase.  Whenever I leave the room you really do not like it. 
• You are such a happy baby!! You are so easy going and are pretty much happy anywhere!!

Emerson, we are so blessed to have you as our daughter.  Our family is complete because of you!! We can't wait to see the girl you are going to grow into!! We love you.

My hungry little hippo

Emerson really loves to eat, and she is really quite vocal about it. She grunts when she sees a bottle, yelps when she really likes her solids, and blows raspberries when she doesn't like something. We just started on puffs and she gets so excited when I bring them out. Here my lite cutie pie. I really could eat her up!!

These two videos are of the precious angels. One of each of them.  The first is of Ansley and let me preface this video by saying she did this entirely on her own.  She begged me in fact.  She vacuumed for a solid THIRTY minutes! Notice how she holds the cord in one hand?  I did not tell her to do that.  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, no?  Now every time I get the vacuum out she wants it.  I can’t say that I am upset by this.

This second video is of Emerson.  She can practically mimic any sound that you make.  This is of her mimicking me, you can tell when she does it by her mouth, she usually puckers her lips up.  Ansley is, of course, in the background trying to be in the limelight. She is my little ham.

Finally....

I have finally joined the iPhone world! My awesome husband just got me the 4S and it totally rocks! I think I will be doing a lot more blogging now that I can do it all from my phone. Here are some pictures I took of us in the car wit my new phone!!

Christmas, part two.

I know, I know. It has taken me way to long to post this. I apologize. After much grief from multiple sources, I am forcing myself to sit down and finish what I started.  In my defense I have been a little busy: chasing my two and a half year old, constantly watching my 6 month old army crawl into chaos and make sure she doesn’t hurt herself, and so on and so on. 

 

So, I know this video is quite long and most of you will not watch it in its entirety, but here it is.  This is from Christmas morning, with Ansley opening her stocking and her present from us, or rather, Santa.  And, yes, we let her eat goldfish and M&M’s for breakfast.  It was Christmas after all.  Freddy did make us a scrumptious breakfast of Snickerdoodle  after all the presents were opened.
