second birthday and first day of school

I can’t believe my baby is two!! Yesterday was Ansley’s birthday and we tried to make it a fun and special day for her.  I know she won’t remember it, but she had a GREAT day!! It started off by helping me make pancakes from scratch for breakfast.  She stirred the ingredients and Emerson supervised.

While I was cleaning up breakfast, Ansley was playing with her toys and I kept hearing her say something over and over.  I couldn’t make out what she was saying, but when I looked up she was talking to a book.  I got closer and I heard her say, “ake up princess, ake up!”  She was reading Sleeping Beauty and telling the princess to “wake up”.  She is just the cutest thing ever!!
Once I got all of us ready, I told Ansley that we would go get a princess movie.  I needed to go to Wal-Mart for a few things and I knew she would oblige if she knew we would get something “princess”.  She has been a bit obsessed lately.  We ended up getting a Strawberry Shortcake movie, surprise surprise, and brought it home to watch it while we had a carpet picnic.
After naptime, we played and waited for Daddy to come home to open presents and go to dinner.  When you are two, your dining out requisite involves a playground, so we went to Chick-fil-a (a family favorite).  After playing and going crazy for ice cream we headed home for bath time.  Overall, our princess was spoiled for the day.  Ansley, I hope you know how much joy and love you bring to your Daddy and I! We love you so much!!

Ansley’s first day of school was on Tuesday, and after a little protest in the beginning she ended up doing great! She told me she had fun when we were leaving.  I thought I would show how much she has grown since last year on the first day of school, the last day of school and the first day this year…

I had to throw one in there of her and her sissy!
After school, we came home for a Stokes family tradition…first day of school brownies! I think this is a tradition Ansley can get behind!
