Well, Ansley has pneumonia. Boo. Major boo. I was called yesterday by her teacher, who said Ans had a 103 degree fever. Poor thing just stayed in bed all day, she even put herself there! That is when I knew she was sick. I, myself, am feeling like poo but don't go to the dr until tomorrow. I'm so thankful that we dodged the flu(still fingers crossed) but I hate seeing my babies sick with anything. We asked Ansley what was wrong and she said,"I have germs." we asked, "oh really, well what do they look like?" She sternly answered,"mean!"
As all the other mommas out there know, there is no such thing as a personal sick day. So, here we are in bed with our Popsicles, Netflix and Gatorade.

sick...
Illness is going around in the Stokes household. Ansley and I both caught something this weekend. She is feeling well enough to go to school, but I am feeling sick enough to be in bed. We had a much needed low key weekend. We caught up on some projects around the house, and had some good family time. Here are some pictures of my babies carrying their babies. I hope everyone is having a great Monday.

15 months!
Emerson, you are 15 months old! (Actually you are almost 16 months, but bare with me). You had your appointment on Monday because, sweet girl, you have been fighting some kind of illness for the past four weeks. From an ear infection to hand-foot-and-mouth to croup. Poor thing. Despite feeling down right horrible, you are still such a happy little girl. It feels as though you have always been a part of my heart, so it is hard to believe that you are a mere 15 months old.
Here's what you've been up to:
Here's what you've been up to:
- You weigh 24 pound 8 ounces, and are 31.75 inches long. Dr. Jones is very pleased with you growth.
- You are walking and running non.stop. You started walking in late August and haven't stopped since. You are so active. You don't stop from the moment you wake until the moment you go to sleep.
- You are quite the little trouble maker. You have a mischievous twinkle in your eye that, while wears me out, I quite love about you. It is never a dull moment with you. You love getting into everything. The litter box, the cat bowl, the trash can, your sister's potty, the big potty, my beauty products, the pantry, etc, etc, etc.
- You don't take no for an answer when your mind is made up about something. You will scream, hit, pull hair, give the evil eye, or just throw yourself down and pout. I have a feeling you will be calling the time out chair home very shortly.
- You love Shiraz, the cat not the wine, whom you affectionately
yellcall "Shaaazzz". Although the love is unrequited, it does not deter you from chasing him down, giving him a good squeeze and pat on the head. - You love your family. You are a very sweet and affectionate little girl. You will gladly give kisses and hugs and lots of snuggles. I LOVE this about you!
- You are a very good helper!! When we sing the clean up song, you are the first to put toys away and help me clean up. You know where everything goes, and take much joy in putting things in the proper place. You follow instructions very well, so I am hoping you keep this up.
- You are a very healthy eater, in fact you eat more than your sister. I don't think you have met something that you don't want to eat. You haven't been liking milk lately, so we are working on that. Your favorites are: yogurt, applesauce, chocolate covered raisins, cliff z bars, and animal crackers.
- You vocabulary is expanding day by day. You now say: Momma, Daddy, hi, sissy, uh-oh(your first word), shush, hush, shaz, thank you, and eeeze(please or cheese depending on if I'm taking a picture or not).
- You are a great sleeper and take one long nap in the afternoon. When we say it is night night time you grab your blanket and baby, blow kisses and head for your room. So cute.
- You love animals and babies. Whether they are stuffed or real. You are so loving and nurturing. You will kiss them and squeeze their necks.
- You love your sister so much, but definitely have sibling rivalry. No one gets you angry quite like your sister. Ha. You will pull her hair one second and hug her the next. You love her bed, her blanket, her anything really. Y'all are starting to play so well together, and I so hope you will be best friends. Sisters are so special, sweet girl, and I hope you love and value your big sister.
You fill our house with so much joy! With your silly faces, funny noises, spunky personality and sweet soul. I can't believe I ever lived with out you sweet Emerson Michelle. You have made me a better person. You have forever changed my heart, you have softened it in a time when I thought it was forever hardened. When I look into those big brown eyes I am turned to mush. You fill us with laughter, love, and joy. We love you Emmy!!

our crazy weekend
This weekend was our yard sale. We have been planning this for months, and I am so relieved that it is over with. My mom came down on Thursday night, and we worked from the moment she got here until we couldn't move any longer on Saturday. I think we might have had 7 hours of sleep in two days. It was that much work! It was totally worth it in the end, because we got rid of a lot of crap stuff and made some moo-lah. While we were working I didn't get to take a whole lot of pictures, but I did capture some cuteness along the way.
Also, we want to wish our great friend, Laura, a happy happy birthday!! We are so blessed to call you a friend, and hope that you have a wonderful day!! We love you.

Sweet breakfast
One of my favorite things to do with the girls is take them out to breakfast. They are usually the happiest in the mornings, there are fewer people out, and, of course, breakfast is the best meal of the day! We started November off right by having our girls breakfast at Chick-fil-a. They love those cinnamon rolls and oranges(although I wish they put more in there), and I love soaking up these fleeting moments with my babies.
Trick or treat
We were so excited to trick or treat last night that half of us couldn't sit still. I'll give you one guess who that was! Before I wrestled the girls into their costumes, we had a surprise visitor in Grandpa. It was a nice, yet chaotic, visit. The girls were very excited to see him and he brought Grandmas latest creations as well.
We both took the girls to our neighbors houses, where Emmy invited herself in, and then Freddy took the girls out while I manned the door. I loved seeing all the sweet little ones in their costumes! I did get a few trick-or-treaters who looked college-aged. What do you think is the cut off age for trick-or-treating?
Once the girls got home, they showed me their loot, told me all the great stories, ate a few bites of candy and then headed to bed!! We were all pooped after yesterday's whirl-wind!!
*As you can see the girls Emerson couldn't sit still. So, I'm sorry for the blurry pictures.
