15 months!

Emerson, you are 15 months old! (Actually you are almost 16 months, but bare with me). You had your appointment on Monday because, sweet girl, you have been fighting some kind of illness for the past four weeks.  From an ear infection to hand-foot-and-mouth to croup. Poor thing. Despite feeling down right horrible, you are still such a happy little girl.  It feels as though you have always been a part of my heart, so it is hard to believe that you are a mere 15 months old.

Here's what you've been up to:

  • You weigh 24 pound 8 ounces, and are 31.75 inches long.  Dr. Jones is very pleased with you growth.
  • You are walking and running non.stop. You started walking in late August and haven't stopped since.  You are so active. You don't stop from the moment you wake until the moment you go to sleep.
  • You are quite the little trouble maker.  You have a mischievous twinkle in your eye that, while wears me out, I quite love about you.  It is never a dull moment with you. You love getting into everything. The litter box, the cat bowl, the trash can, your sister's potty, the big potty, my beauty products, the pantry, etc, etc, etc.
  • You don't take no for an answer when your mind is made up about something. You will scream, hit, pull hair, give the evil eye, or just throw yourself down and pout.  I have a feeling you will be calling the time out chair home very shortly.
  • You love Shiraz, the cat not the wine, whom you affectionately yell call "Shaaazzz". Although the love is unrequited, it does not deter you from chasing him down, giving him a good squeeze and pat on the head.
  • You love your family.  You are a very sweet and affectionate little girl.  You will gladly give kisses and hugs and lots of snuggles.  I LOVE this about you!
  • You are a very good helper!! When we sing the clean up song, you are the first to put toys away and help me clean up.  You know where everything goes, and take much joy in putting things in the proper place. You follow instructions very well, so I am hoping you keep this up.
  • You are a very healthy eater, in fact you eat more than your sister. I don't think you have met something that you don't want to eat. You haven't been liking milk lately, so we are working on that. Your favorites are: yogurt, applesauce, chocolate covered raisins, cliff z bars, and animal crackers.
  • You vocabulary is expanding day by day. You now say: Momma, Daddy, hi, sissy, uh-oh(your first word), shush, hush, shaz, thank you, and eeeze(please or cheese depending on if I'm taking a picture or not).
  • You are a great sleeper and take one long nap in the afternoon.  When we say it is night night time you grab your blanket and baby, blow kisses and head for your room. So cute.
  • You love animals and babies. Whether they are stuffed or real. You are so loving and nurturing. You will kiss them and squeeze their necks.
  • You love your sister so much, but definitely have sibling rivalry. No one gets you angry quite like your sister. Ha. You will pull her hair one second and hug her the next. You love her bed, her blanket, her anything really. Y'all are starting to play so well together, and I so hope you will be best friends. Sisters are so special, sweet girl, and I hope you love and value your big sister.
You fill our house with so much joy! With your silly faces, funny noises, spunky personality and sweet soul.  I can't believe I ever lived with out you sweet Emerson Michelle.  You have made me a better person. You have forever changed my heart, you have softened it in a time when I thought it was forever hardened.  When I look into those big brown eyes I am turned to mush.  You fill us with laughter, love, and joy.  We love you Emmy!!
