crack is whack

Friday consisted of a play date with our friends, Ethan and Joy(and baby Beniah).  We went over to Joy’s Friday morning and wore Ethan and Ansley out by playing outside in the sandbox and kiddy pool.  Ansley had a great time and was passed out when we got in the car. However, when we got home and I put her in bed, she wanted nothing to do with a nap! So she played while I did a little baking.  I saw her out of the corner of my eye, and this is what I saw:


The girl has been stripping her clothes off lately, and she was working her way down to her diaper. I was laughing so hard, and to make it even better, when I pulled the camera out I told her to turn around and with her back to me she kept saying, “cheese”.  She is such a mess! I love her so much I could burst!!
When Daddy got home we (by we I mean me) decided to get some ice cream from Sonic.  I truly have a love affair with Sonic, and by love affair I mean addiction.  I love happy hour!! Our little girl gets her love of ice cream honestly!!



Yesterday, Ansley and I went to the farmer’s market in Augusta to get some yummy produce.  Freddy has been super swamped with work so he went in to get a few things done.  The girls had a lot of fun, even though it was stifling and I got suckered into buying a $4 cupcake from a sweet little kid. He came up to me and asked, “would you like to buy a cupcake?” Being the nice person I am, I thought sure (thinking that they were like $.50 for like a bake sale), well I will have to say that it is a brilliant marketing strategy to have a cute little boy sell your ridiculously expensive cupcakes! After blowing most of my money on food that was not produce, Ansley and I left to eat our boiled peanuts in the air-conditioned car.  The girl ate all but 3!! I didn’t get hardly any, now if that is not love then I don’t know what is!!


The rest of the weekend has been pretty lazy, filled with cleaning and trips to the pool!! We are gearing up for our trip to the beach on Friday!!

last day of school

Today is Ansley’s last day of school. I have mixed emotions about it. I love the four hours that I get to accomplish whatever I can with out the “help” of a toddler, but I am also excited to have this time with her alone before the baby comes.  It is so special to me to be able to spend the day with her, I know that some moms would kill for the opportunity. I know how lucky I am, and I am just going to relish in our last few months alone together. 
I took a few pictures of my little munchkin this morning before we left. Let me say, I am loving this weather! I know it is weird for her to be wearing a sweater in the middle of May, but this pregnant lady really appreciates it!!

our weekend

Our weekend was quite busy with a trip to Atlanta.  Not only were we planning on attending the wedding of my friend Jean, but also move a queen sized bed to my mom’s, pick up a twin size bed for Ansley, and take a cabinet to Freddy’s sister Kim.  With all that shoved into 24 hours, you might say we were busy.  We had a few missteps along the way, like the ramp to 285 being shut down and a subsequent hour in traffic, but all in all we had a great time!
Saturday, after we made it to my mom’s, about an hour and a half after we had planned, we unloaded and loaded the trailer and got ready for the wedding. I cannot tell you how beautiful it was! The location was absolutely stunning!! It was at an estate in Atlanta that had been turned into a school for developmentally challenged children, so it was not only beautiful but all the money went to a great cause too!  The couple, Will and Jean, were so happy and were totally beaming all night.  I have known Jean since our Phi Mu days which started back in ‘04.  She is a wonderful friend and I could not be happy for her, and let me tell you she was STUNNING!! She looked perfect!

This is one of my favorite girls,Jessica and her hubby Kevin.  They are expecting their first little girl in September and we are so so excited for them! They are going to be awesome parents!!

busy day

Yesterday was quite a busy day.  Ansley’s school is coming to a close so I am trying to get into our “summer routine”.  I like to keep her busy outside, basically to tire her out! So, yesterday morning we headed to the park.  She LOVES being outside and playing on the playground; however, lately she has been really timid and skittish toward the playground.  She played for a little while but was more interested in her snack. We stayed for around an hour, but it was so hot she was asking to go! By the time we made it to our street she was passed out. 









After her three hour nap (hallelujah!), I started some dinner and she played by herself.  It got really quiet for a little while and then I heard running back in forth between my room and her sissy’s room.  She emerged in a new “ensemble”, she loves to wear mommy’s shoes!


After we finished up dinner and cleaned up a bit, Ansley and I went to our church where a friend of ours was putting on a twirling recital.  Our friend, Hope, was the featured twirler for UGA and started her own studio where she teaches little girls how to twirl.  She thought that Ansley would enjoy watching the girls and she did! She was clapping and spinning with the girls…I think dance or twirling may be in her future! Here are the girls getting their trophies.




Tomorrow we are off to Atlanta! We are getting Ansley’s big girl bed and going to the wedding of a GREAT friend! I can’t wait to see the beautiful bride!!!

On Saturday we had a busy day in the yard.  We finally finished our vegetable garden! I hope that it goes better this year than it did last year. Last year, our strawberries died, and we only got one zucchini and squash. This year we decided to do a raised bed, with lots of manure!  Freddy and I went to Home Depot to get the dirt and manure while mom watched Ansley.  Freddy hauled over 600 pounds of dirt yesterday!  So far, the garden looks great and we are really excited for what it produces!  We had lots of “help” from Ansley too.  She LOVES being outside, so I’m hoping to put her to use soon.  She did, however, help mom pull weeds and water our beautiful flowers!
